Patrick Ware Working with Words

Patrick is a Boston native and began his composition studies at Westfield State College where he earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. After receiving his MSEd from Radford University, he completed his Orff-Schulwerk Certification and movement apprenticeship at George Mason University. Patrick is currently a doctoral candidate at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University. Along with his K-5 general music, and choral duties in Prince William County Public Schools, Prince William County VA, Patrick is the movement instructor for the Carnegie Mellon University Orff-Schulwerk teacher training course as well as the movement and recorder instructor for the Worcester Public Schools Orff-Schulwerk teacher training course. He is an active clinician and choral conductor at both the national and local level.

Patrick has published two songs for Treble Choir and Orff instruments; Sing Winter and Celebrate and is currently working on a new book of original Jazz tunes with lesson plans and teaching suggestions titled Here's Two .

Brent is the author and composer of  Ensemble, Wood Songs, and Canons Too!  He has co-authored The Beatin' Path Consort Collection for SATB recorders with Michael Nichols. Brent is the Basic Orff instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University. Read more about Brent at his website.

Michael Nichols -  A Saturday Smorgasbord of Orff Activities

included recorder playing, movement, orchestrations, speech activities. Activities included lots of ideas for teaching Soprano and Alto Recorders.
